Electronic devices and small electrical appliances are a big part of everyday life, but care must be used with these items to avoid fires, electrical shocks and burn injuries. With so many electronic devices, power tools and small appliances in most homes, it is easy to forget that they may present a fire hazard or cause an electrical shock.
The Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council, in partnership with the Electrical Safety Authority, invites you to partner with grade 1 and 2 teachers in your community to help educate students about the safe use of small appliances and electronic devices. Each free package includes teacher lesson plans and take-home activity sheets for 30 students.
